Successful IVF and FET patient with Dr. Tan. Have been with the clinic since 2017 and I have to agree the journey was extremely turbulent but the clinic and the doctors have always done everything in my best interest and to the best of their knowledge and capabilities. Getting pregnant is always a miracle each and every time even with human-science intervention. I without a doubt believe that if there is a chance to become pregnant and if it’s meant to happen, it can happen with Create West fertility. And adding one more thing; customer service and compassion has definitely improved at the clinic over the years. Remember fertility clinics are there to get you pregnant, not an educational clinic. You need to research and ask questions/push for answers, just like in ANY doctor’s office. Take with a grain of salt.

Update: Run away from this clinic ASAP. Don't be fooled by the short IVF wait list. I knew nothing about IVF when I joined this clinic and now I know so much more since joining my new clinic where they actually educate and care about you. Dr. Tan is at least 1 hour late for egg retrievals (there is only a 2 hour window or you'll lose all your eggs!! - I remember the nurse sedating me as she was parking her car and coming up the elevator due to the urgency of it) and her being late an hour again for all of our transfers (imagine holding a full bladder for that long). She has no remorse and doesn't even apologize, as this is the norm. Don't traumatize yourself here. Go somewhere else and get better care. Fertility care is so personalized - I would never wish for my worse enemy to be treated this way. Also, partners are locked out of every appointment and this is extremely isolating for both parties. Our new clinic allows my partner into the clinic and he has been part of all our conversation with the nurses and clinic. We feel much more included and feel like we are making joint and educated decisions. Original post: I have been at this clinic for over a year and can share that everyone tries their best but it is a dysfunctional clinic from the admin, nurses, technicians and mainly Dr. Tan. There is little to no patient education, no transparency, and extremely poor bedside manners. This might be a clinic you can go to if you know exactly what you want and need, and you just need the doctor and nurses to write you a script and do the procedures. The nurses will call you and try to cram as much information during a 2 minute call on important & expensive medications (often leaving out key details) and rush you off the phone. Dr. Tan has terrible bedside manners and I think generally lacks EQ - she has no idea how cold and insensitive she comes across. My partner and I have been traumatized by this clinic - death by a thousand cuts. We have moved on to a different clinic and we feels a huge load has lifted off. We feel more resilient, content and satisfied with our new clinic regardless of where this journey takes us.

Not leaving this clinic early is one of my greatest regrets. The lack of transparency, education, personalized care has caused so much stress. After assuming we were on the IVF waitlist for months we discovered we were not, wasting precious time. The staff regularly asks you "what you want to do next" without explaining the processes, tradeoffs, risks and benefits, or anything else. They are a drive-through lab at best, not a place where you should place any trust in. I hope somebody who's reading this is persuaded to seek care somewhere else, and that's why I'm writing this review.

No education, not individualized. Can’t make an informed choice without all the information - very rushed. Go somewhere else. U/S techs are nice. Only Dr Claessen was good. Dr Yu and Dr Tan lack sensitivity . For your effort and money - go somewhere else - you will notice a huge difference in your care.

I was referred to create west by my GP. After some unexplained infertility she sent the referral, seemingly based on the clinic's close proximity to my house. I am writing this review in the hopes someone in a similar position reads it and does not go to this clinic, also they don't waste the first Ontario covered IVF treatment at Create west. My husband and I have already moved to a different clinic and the quality of care and process are above and beyond anything I received there. I have also been vindicated through conversations with other doctors and those that have gone through this process, that what I went through at Create west was board-line traumatizing and the doctors methods and general approach to care is lazy and ineffective. To begin, your initial intro call is with one doctor, who is very positive and optimistic. She is not who you will deal with day to day. there is a different doctor who will manage your care.These two often contradict each other with their opinions and approaches to your treatment. As noted in a number of reviews, very little is explained to you. You need to dig for information and at times when you ask questions you are met with indifference or even amusement. sometimes i think they forget this is your first time going through the process. For example with IVF - my current clinic, you have an hour meeting with a nurse where she explains the entire process , and you are required to watch educational videos. at Create west, you show up to cycle monitoring like any other cycle are given medication and then told to come in again. this prevents you from making informed decisions. after my retrieval, they called me and said "your not having your eggs tested are you........?" what did they mean tested i thought? would this help? how much would this cost? what are the downsides? none of this was explained. and the way they asked it..... was very judgmental. i felt pressured to say no. I could go into more specific examples of their methods that I have since reviewed with other doctors and patients that are very concerning but what was the final straw for us to leave was a conversation I had with the doctor my last time at the clinic. I had just finished my FIRST round of IVF and asked what we could do next to be more successful. they flipped through my chart quickly and said to me "well we have done all we can, I think you should look into surrogacy". Stunned, I asked what that meant, they almost laughed and said - well you could do an agency or have a friend do it. I realize no Dr. or clinic can guarantee pregnancy, but you deserve to go somewhere that is thorough and where the Drs. and staff have your best interests in mind. Do your research and find one that supports you, informs you and makes this process easier, not harder.

I would recommend Dr Tan and this clinic! IVF is a lot of trial and error and she is open to trying new protocols or running other tests. Advocate for yourself, come prepared with questions. They always answer your questions and are really lovely to deal with.

My low rating is based on my interactions with Dr Tan and the poor experience getting blood drawn. The doctor laughed at me for crying during a painful procedure. There was no serious discussion of side effects of the medication she recommended (which never had a prescription document provided) and she would change her tune from appointment to appointment. The nurses try to be nice and they do take time to explain things but it was obvious the doctor didn't really communicate with them and they are overwhelmed with patients. When discussing our preliminary blood tests, rather than take their word, my husband and I wanted to see the tests results to better understand what the doctor was saying. They made us pay for our own medical records ($50+). Expect to have lots of blood drawn - it's part of the monitoring. The lady that does the blood basically stabs your arm each time. It becomes painful and I was always bruised. She makes no effort to try different tools when it's obvious she's hurting you. The ultrasound ladies are really nice. Overall, find another clinic if you can.

I had a phenomenal experience and outcome at Create West. I am grateful and blessed to say that with this clinic’s help, I am now 7 months pregnant. I was consistently treated with compassion and patience. The staff at Create West made me feel like family. Dr. Tan is amazing, incredibly knowledgeable and always addressed my questions/concerns in entirety. Becoming a patient at this clinic has been one of the best decisions I ever made. The administrative ladies at the front were always kind and professional. It is a busy clinic but I found it to be highly organized. The staff are truly amazing at what they do and went above and beyond their role to support me emotionally as well. The nurses, lab techs and ultrasound techs are amazing, amazing, amazing. I cannot say enough great things about this clinic. ALL of the staff are amazing, kind and patient. The care I received both before and after a successful IUI was great. I never felt like a number, I got fast responses from nurses and front desk, communication was never an issue. From the nurse holding my hand during my sono, to the nurse giving me injections, to the people at the front greeting me every morning - an amazing team. It is clear they really care about you! I'm so thankful for my twin girls and can't wait to bring them in when they arrive! Thank you Create West Team :)
